What happens during a belly binding session?
Belly binding sessions are done in the comfort of your own home. I come to you! You can choose between my 1,3, 5 or 10 day package. While at your home I will bind you, then teach you how to bind yourself. If you choose to use the warming paste we will apply this as well. I am happy to teach your partner how to wrap you so that you can have help at home. Our session ends when you feel like you've got the hang of it. Sessions usually last 1- 2 hours. If you need help after I leave, I am available to answer questions over the phone and I can send you some helpful videos as well.
When can I start belly binding?
For a vaginal birth, it is recommended to begin binding within the first week postpartum. For a cesarean birth, it is recommended to wait 4-6 weeks until your incision has healed. You can wrap for 10-12 hours per day or as long as you are comfortable. Traditionally, binding is done for the first 40 days postpartum, but it can also be done for much longer. You can bind anytime for additional support, even 8 weeks, 12 weeks, 6 months or more postpartum.
